01 / A SECOND WAY ONLINE

Backup internet for
Charleston businesses.

Protect POS, phones, cloud applications and remote access with a secondary internet connection. We select the backup path, connect it to your router or firewall, and test what happens when the primary link goes down.

01 / CELLULAR

LTE & 5G backup

Cellular modems, routers and antennas configured as a secondary WAN. Useful where mobile coverage and data capacity match the business's needs.

Signal checks · Antenna placement · Carrier compatibility
02 / SATELLITE

Starlink backup

A satellite connection can provide another route when local wired service is disrupted. We handle mounting, cable routing and integration with the business network.

03 / DUAL WAN

A second wired circuit

Connect a second ISP or circuit to a compatible router. We review carrier handoffs and shared infrastructure so the backup addresses the outage risks that matter.

Provider coordination · Demarc extensions · Router configuration

02 / CONFIGURE. INTERRUPT. VERIFY.

The backup needs
to take over.

A dual-WAN router checks connection health and routes traffic to the backup when the primary path fails. We configure those checks, traffic priorities and recovery behavior, then test the cutover.

Explore the sequence. Actual cutover time and session behavior depend on the equipment, connection and applications.

03 / THE INSTALLATION

Beyond the
backup modem.

A working backup includes the WAN, local network and power. We check the complete path to the devices that need connectivity.

01

Router & firewall integration

Dual-WAN support, addressing, health checks, routing rules and failback settings.

02

Critical traffic first

Prioritize business applications and limit nonessential guest or bulk traffic on a metered backup.

03

Cabling, antennas & power

Install the links and mounts, check PoE requirements, and review UPS coverage for network equipment.

04

Live failover testing

Interrupt the primary WAN, check critical applications on backup, and verify recovery when service returns.

04 / PRACTICAL ANSWERS

Business internet
failover, explained.

Equipment, coverage, applications and data usage determine the right backup connection.

Will calls, VPNs and POS transactions stay connected?

Failover reduces outage exposure, but existing calls, VPNs or transactions may reconnect when the internet path or public IP changes. We test your actual applications and discuss session-preserving options where supported.

Can you work with our existing ISP and firewall?

Yes. We check the current modem, handoff, router and firewall for a supported backup configuration. A replacement router may be needed if the existing equipment cannot manage multiple WAN connections.

Does backup internet work during a power outage?

The modem, backup terminal, router, switches and required devices still need power. We review battery-backup requirements with the connection so a working internet path is usable on site.

How much does business backup internet cost?

We quote the hardware, installation, configuration and testing for the site. Carrier or Starlink data plans, usage allowances and any ongoing support are identified separately. Send the location and existing equipment to start.

Give your business another route.

Install a backup connection and test it before the next outage.
